Hey, I’m Natalie Ola.
I am passionate about creating work that resonates on a deeper emotional and philosophical level.
Creating
I create original hand-painted magnificent nature works that aspire to be alive with color and movement, echoing the textures and movement of urban life—layers of spray paint, vibrant colors, and bold brushstrokes—yet juxtaposed with organic motifs like flowers, leaves, and animal forms, which weave through the compositions like nature reclaiming its space in the chaos.
Thinking
I aspire to paint concepts. The concept of partnership— how the two or more grow together, shaping up the strengths in each other and becoming more like each other while maintaining strongly defined boundaries and identity. The concept of hacking the ecstatic—it involves mending and spreading the bliss over the areas that had been previously shattered, covering and healing them, thus amending and rejuvenating the mind. The concept of rediscovering and reconnecting with the deepest of our values; perseverance in reinforcing them.
Writing
Through my art and writing, I aim to evoke reflection and inspire viewers to reconnect with their core values—those inner truths that guide up toward empathy, resilience, and purpose. I believe that by nurturing and reinforcing these values, both individually and collectively, we can contribute to building a more compassionate, respectful, and conscious world.
Creating
Breeze
The wind moves with purpose, sweeping through the garden like an invisible tide, stirring the treetops and setting the world in motion. Flower petals tremble, caught between surrender and flight, like echoes of a soul unburdened and free.
Tropical Love
The series immerses viewers in a wild botanical garden where deep reds, fiery crimsons, and rich burgundies pulse with raw emotion. Just as nature grows freely, untamed and unapologetic, so too does human passion—whether for love, art, or the pursuit of something deeply meaningful.
Petals
The series captures the intricate beauty of nature’s layers. Each piece immerses the viewer in a world of overlapping petals, delicate foliage, and lush leaves, evoking the depth and movement of a thriving botanical garden.
Thinking
Psychological Framework
“A mindset is your psychology. We can set our mind yet, first, we need to know what we set towards— a certain psychological state. What does it feel like when I am in that state?”
Self-Transcendence
“Those of us who are more self-forgetful have an easier time getting lost in the moment, being absorbed in art and music and sport, in achieving Csikszentmihalyi's flow state.”
Flow
“Flow state happens when all of your attention is fully locked into the present. But a calendar chokepoint creates a neurological tug-of-war between now and next. […] Flow doesn't just need time—it needs trust that time won't run out.
Writing
Self-Leadership
“Yet after the sessions of ecstasis, aka the altered state of consciousness and flow experienced from working long hours with uninterrupted attention and focus, there comes the pull.”
Neuroscience
“Because when you are grateful it sets off the brain’s bs detector. You are not grateful for imaginary things that might happen in the future; you are grateful for stuff that has already happened. It’s real; we know it’s real.”
Ecstasis & Longevity
“There’s an ecstatic spectrum: flow states, states of awe, meditative states, contemplative states, psychedelic states, technologically mediated states—they do similar things to our brain; they also start molecular improvements that slow down aging.”
